CNMV Warns of Clone Websites Impersonating Forex Brokers
Abstract:Spain’s CNMV has warned against clone websites using the identities of iBROKER and GPB Financial Services, two forex-related firms listed on WikiFX with regulated entities.

Spains National Securities Market Commission has issued warnings against websites presenting themselves as two established financial firms with forex operations.
The regulator identified ibrokergm.com and gpbfinancialservices.eu as clone websites. CNMV stated that neither site is connected to the regulated company whose identity it resembles.
iBROKER Name Used by Unauthorised Website
CNMV said IBROKERGM and the domain ibrokergm.com are not connected to iBroker Global Markets, S.V., S.A.
The legitimate company is registered in Spain as an investment firm under registration number 260. Its official website is ibroker.es. CNMV also states that the unauthorised clone is not permitted to provide regulated investment services, including foreign-currency transactions.
WikiFX lists iBROKER under iBroker Global Markets Sociedad de Valores, S.A., with Spanish regulatory registration number 260. Forex is included among the instruments available through the broker. (WikiFX)
GPB Financial Services Also Targeted by a Clone
The second forex-related case involves gpbfinancialservices.eu.
CNMV classified the website as a clone and said it has no connection with GPB Financial Services Ltd, an authorised European Economic Area investment firm registered to provide services in Spain under number 3,031. The warning also covers unauthorised foreign-exchange activities.
WikiFX lists GPB Financial Services Ltd as a Cyprus-regulated firm and identifies Forex among its available financial instruments. The broker profile shows gpbfs.com.cy as its website, rather than the domain cited in the CNMV clone warning.
Check the Domain, Not Just the Broker Name
Both cases involve websites using names close to legitimate regulated firms while operating through different domains.
For iBROKER, the CNMV warning concerns ibrokergm.com, while the regulated company uses ibroker.es. For GPB Financial Services, the warned domain is gpbfinancialservices.eu, while WikiFX records the regulated firm under gpbfs.com.cy.
Checking the legal entity, licence number and website domain separately can help distinguish a regulated broker from a site using a similar identity. WikiFX broker profiles can be used to compare these details with available regulatory records.
