Middle East Deadlock & RBA Decision: Commodities Surge as Macro Focus Shifts
Crude Oil, Gold, AUDUSD & AUDJPY Analysis
Global financial markets opened Tuesday's session on a cautious note as reignited geopolitical friction in the Middle East drove crude oil prices up by ~5%, tempering the explosive upside momentum that followed last weeks disappointing US payroll report.
Two Primary Drivers: Geopolitical Tension & RBA Decision
1. Middle East Deadlock Boosts Commodities
Hopes for an immediate diplomatic breakthrough faded after demand for compensation stall progress, with both sides reinforcing demands for damages to cover conflict costs.
2. RBA Rate Decision
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is widely expected to hold its official cash rate steady at 4.35%.
Asset Outlook & Technical AnalysisEnergy Surges on Geopolitical Stalemate
Geopolitical friction and ongoing restrictions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz have pushed crude prices higher. As direct negotiations remain stalled, an elevated risk premium will stay embedded in energy prices.
However, without further geopolitical escalation, prices are expected to remain elevated within a broad consolidation range rather than stage an uninhibited upside breakout.

UKOIL (Brent Crude), Daily Chart
While short-term trendlines on the 2-hour and 4-hour charts reflect an upward tilt, broad-term energy prices remain largely capped within a major horizontal corridor.
Recent swing highs and lows near 80.00 – 88.00 continue to carve out a broad consolidation range. In the absence of dramatic escalation or easing, crude oil is expected to remain elevated within this established zone rather than launch a sustained directional rally.

USOIL (WTI Crude), H4 Chart
Similarly, WTI crude remains locked within a primary 75.00 – 85.00 technical range, favoring range-bound trading strategies near channel boundaries.
XAU/USD: Bullish Extension Active, Cautious of Pullbacks
Safe-haven bids from Middle East friction, combined with unwinding Fed rate-hike bets, continue to fuel gold's bullish momentum. The overarching technical uptrend remains firmly intact as price action cleanly breached the $4,400/oz threshold to test multi-month highs.

XAUUSD, H4 Chart
Following nearly five days of parabolic gains without a meaningful technical correction, traders should remain cautious of short-term retracements.
Strategy: The macro setup favors a “buy-on-dip” approach. Immediate intraday support rests at $4,400, while the $4,250 – $4,300 zone serves as primary swing support.
RBA Rate Decision & AUD Outlook
With the RBA cash rate expected to remain at 4.35%, the Australian Dollar's trajectory hinges on RBA Governor Bullock's forward guidance. Persistent core inflation combined with surging energy costs gives the central bank strong grounds to maintain a hawkish stance.
AUD/USD Outlook

AUDUSD, H4 Chart
AUD/USD retains a strong bullish reversal posture, supported by a softer US Dollar and firming commodity prices.
While recent momentum has tempered as the dollar finds temporary support, the Aussie requires a hawkish RBA hold to drive its next directional leg. A hawkish hold today could propel AUD/USD toward its next major resistance target at 0.7100. Technically, 0.7000 has converted into primary structural support, maintaining a favorable “buy-the-dip” setup.
AUD/JPY Outlook

AUDJPY, Daily Chart
AUD/JPY continues its recovery phase following the Bank of Japan‘s recent currency intervention. Hawkish signaling from the RBA would expand yield differentials in favor of the Aussie, aiding AUD/JPY’s recovery toward previous swing resistance.
With AUD/JPY regaining ground above the pivotal 111.40 support level, the broader technical outlook tilts back to a bullish-to-consolidation bias. As long as price action holds above 111.40, the recovery structure remains valid.
Bottom Line & Asset Summary
Geopolitical stalemate in the Middle East pushed Crude Oil up 5% and drove Gold past $4,400/oz, while markets await the RBA rate decision (4.35% hold expected). The Aussie Dollar retains a bullish reversal stance above 0.7000 support, while Gold remains a buy-on-dip play and Crude Oil stays elevated within broad horizontal ranges.
· Crude Oil (UKOIL / USOIL): Range-Bound / Risk Premium Elevated; UKOIL capped between 80.00 and 88.00, USOIL constrained between 75.00 and 85.00.
· Spot Gold (XAU/USD): Bullish Expansion; holding above $4,400 resistance-turned-support, eyeing dip-buying entries with major swing support at $4,250 – $4,300.
· AUD/USD: Bullish Reversal; defending 0.7000 primary support, eyeing a hawkish RBA hold to catalyze a breakout toward 0.7100.
· AUD/JPY: Recovery Phase; reclaimed 111.40 support, maintaining a bullish consolidation bias toward overhead swing resistance.
